Footprints match suspect accused of car vandalism

footprintsOLYMPIA, Wash. – A man jumping on the hoods of several cars at an Olympia used car lot caused about $3,400 damage to five cars on Monday.

The man ran away when witnesses yelled. A Thurston County sheriff’s deputy stopped an 18-year-old who was intoxicated. He denied jumping on the cars, but the deputy was able to match footprints from the cars to the suspect’s shoes.

He also was identified by the witnesses. He was jailed for investigation of malicious mischief.
